Cardboard is an agentic video editor for the browser and for Mac on Apple Silicon. The website is https://www.cardboard.ai. usecardboard.com redirects there. It is a Y Combinator company, and the X account behind the October 26 launch is @sxmawl.

On October 26, 2026, Cardboard said the editor now lives in ChatGPT and Claude: drop in clips, say what you want, and get a finished edit without leaving the chat. Add Cardboard, sign in, and the company says it works on every plan using the credits you already have. Cuts, captions, music, reframes, and motion graphics land on a real timeline, and a follow-up continues the same edit.

Every chat edit is a Cardboard project you can open in the browser or the Mac app. The release also adds recipes in chat, attachments, export from the player, and undo by asking. The Mac app is free to download with Lite included.

Lite is paid on the web. The chat launch does not add a separate Cardboard subscription.
