Ask Bearly what to buy
By Steven Van ·
Best Pick is on Pro and higher plans and returns one product with its price, store link and sources, scored for quality against price in 46 countries.
Best Pick is now available on Bearly.ai's paid plans (Pro or higher). In a chat, asking what to buy gets one product back, with its price and store, the evidence behind the choice, and a button that opens it at the store. On the Free plan, asking for a pick shows an upgrade prompt. An organization policy can turn the feature off. It works in a chat on the web, including a phone's browser, and in the desktop app.
How a pick is made
Bearly searches review sites and stores at the same time. It reads the expert reviews it finds, collects store listings and owner ratings, and groups listings that are the same product. Each candidate gets a quality score from 0 to 100. A fixed scoring rule then picks the product that gives the most quality for its price, within the stated budget and requirements. AI models read the pages and write the explanation, but they do not choose the product.
Bearly does not test products itself. Except for handmade goods, a product has to appear in at least one expert review to be picked, though that review does not have to recommend it. When none does, the card says the pick rests on owner ratings. A product is ruled out if a page Bearly reads reports a recall, if a leading reviewer advises against it, or if owners report a recurring safety problem.
Asking for a pick
Bearly uses Best Pick on its own when a chat asks what to buy. To make sure it does, type /bestpick, select Best Pick under Research, and describe the product, including any budget, size or other must-haves and preferences. While it works, the card shows the request, counts the expert reviews read and store listings checked, and marks anything Bearly filled in as Assumed. A pick stops after 90 seconds, and the card then offers Try again. Only one pick runs at a time in each chat.
What the card shows
- The product photo, brand, name and price, with a View at button that opens the store's own product page. Bearly does not add affiliate links.
- When the price was checked, with a note that the store's checkout price applies. A price more than a day old is dimmed, and Check current price rechecks it.
- An evidence summary: how many experts recommend it, the average owner rating, what owners praise, and the most common reported failure or problem.
- A chart comparing every product weighed by price and quality, plus cheaper and pricier alternatives and any close call.
- A short explanation of why it was picked, and a Sources list of the expert reviews, stores and forums behind it.
Refining and choosing a country
Replying in the same chat or selecting a chip (Cheaper, Worth spending more, Not this one) produces a new card. Bearly keeps earlier requirements and looks first at products it already found. Chips work only on the newest card.
Best Pick shops in one country at a time and shows prices in that country's currency, without converting. It uses a country named in the chat, otherwise the last pick's country, and for a first pick the device's time zone, falling back to the United States. It reads store listings in 46 countries, and the card says when coverage is limited.
Limits
Best Pick recommends but does not buy. It covers new physical products only, not services, travel, cars, homes, or used and refurbished items, and it does not pick medications, supplements, infant car seats or firearms. Each pick uses plan allowance. Administrators can control it under Organizations, in a policy's Web & Research settings.
