What is cobalt?

cobalt is a free, open-source media downloader maintained by imput. Paste a link from any of 20+ supported services — YouTube, X/Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, Twitch clips, Vimeo, SoundCloud, Bilibili, Pinterest, Tumblr, Bluesky, and more — and cobalt returns the file directly. No ads, no tracking, no paywalls, no sign-up.

Audio-only extraction, auto-mute, remuxing, and quality selection are built in. Source is on GitHub and you can self-host the API on your own infrastructure if you'd rather not rely on the public instance.
