Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI ship with skill files, and guidance loads from an AGENTS.md file so other agents can use the same system.

Is OpenEdit free and open source?

Yes. The editor is Apache-2.0 with no subscription. The VEED Engine renderer is closed source under PolyForm Shield, which still allows commercial video output, and you can swap in Chrome-based rendering instead.

Does OpenEdit upload my footage?

Rendering happens locally. Default transcription sends only the audio to VEED with a free account, or you can run WhisperX for a fully local pipeline.
