Install it with npx skills add veedstudio/open-edit and agents like Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI can transcribe footage, design caption styles in HTML and CSS, and render finished MP4s locally, then iterate from plain-language feedback. Beyond captions it can cut and reframe footage, layer motion graphics and charts, and turn slides or web pages into video. The editor is Apache-2.0; the VEED Engine renderer ships as PolyForm Shield binaries with a Chrome-based fallback, and transcription can run through a free veed.io account or fully local via WhisperX. Currently in beta on Apple Silicon Macs.
