Supabase is the Postgres development platform. A project includes a Postgres database, authentication, instant APIs, realtime, functions, storage, and vector embeddings. The homepage says you can start for free.
The pricing page lists a free plan at $0 a month, limited to two active projects and paused after a week of inactivity, Pro from $25 a month, Team from $599 a month, and Enterprise on request. That page also sells database instance size as a separate compute add-on. That add-on is not Supabase Compute.
The platform repository at github.com is Apache 2.0. The company page says the community has more than 100,000 GitHub stars, and that the company is fully remote. On October 27, 2026, Supabase opened Compute in private alpha so agents, background jobs, and APIs can run in the same project as Postgres.
You join a waitlist, and only projects in us-west-2 can use it. The announcement says the alpha is free to try, for evaluation rather than production, and it does not set a price after the alpha or a general-availability date.
