About Isometric Vancouver

Isometric Vancouver is a browser map at vancouver.isoworld.xyz by Daniel (@imnotchalk), built on portals.build. You drag to pan and scroll or pinch to zoom. The on-map panel and coverage.json list 100% of City of Vancouver land and about 4.8% of Greater Vancouver, written as 137.7 of 2,879 square kilometres.

The coverage file says the whole city is drawn except water, and that the 100% figure is capped because the summed frames run slightly past the 115.18 square kilometre reference. Daniel says a few small areas and bugs are still open, including Spanish Banks, and that North Vancouver is next. The how-it's-made note says imagery starts from Google's photorealistic 3D tiles, redrawn tile by tile.

South of Broadway and the west side use a fine-tuned Qwen-Image 2.1 model. UBC and named hotspots use GPT Image 2.6 through OpenRouter. Cars follow real streets, lanes, and signals, but the trips are simulated.

The map is free to open. A Ko-fi link says donations pay only for GPU time and credits. fund.json, updated November 6, 2026, shows CA$0 raised and CA$0 spent. The logo on this page is a Creators Toolbox illustration, not an official mark.

Pricing: Free to open in the browser. Donations through the Ko-fi link pay for GPU time. The fund file dated November 6, 2026 shows CA$0 raised and CA$0 spent.
