A slower social messaging experience where personal notes travel by digital carrier pigeon between confirmed friends.

About Carrier Pidge

Carrier Pidge is a web-based messaging service that delivers personal notes between confirmed friends by digital carrier pigeon, at a deliberately slow pace. Instead of arriving instantly, each note gets a route, an estimated arrival time and a visible flight across a map, and the site presents the waiting as part of the message. A user chooses one confirmed friend, writes a note and releases the pigeon, then follows its route and changing ETA until it lands and it becomes the friend's turn to reply.

Friends connect by username or a personal invite link, and a request must be accepted before either side can send a pigeon. Each account sets a roost from browser location or a chosen area; the point is blurred before it is saved, and friends see a broad region rather than an address or live location. There are no read receipts.

The in-app guide gives a nominal pigeon speed of 110 mph (177 km/h) and about a 0.2% chance that a pigeon gets lost in flight. Pigeons are a limited in-app resource. New accounts receive a welcome pigeon, a safe arrival adds a pigeon to the recipient's reserve, and more can be earned by inviting friends or through Creator Rewards, which grants pigeons based on real likes for original social media posts about the service that pass review.

The refund policy states that Carrier Pidge sells virtual goods, including pigeon packs and reusable hawks. A hawk can try to intercept one of the sender's own pigeons while it is still in flight, and interception is not guaranteed. The interface is offered in 25 languages, and the site has instructions for adding it to a phone home screen.

The site does not name the company or person behind it, and it is a different site from carrier-pidge.app, which hosts a similarly named iPhone and Android app.

FAQs

Common questions about Carrier Pidge

Is Carrier Pidge free?
New accounts receive a welcome pigeon, and more can be earned by inviting friends (one pigeon for every three qualified friends) or through Creator Rewards. The refund policy confirms that Carrier Pidge sells virtual goods. In-app text lists a pack of 5 pigeons for $19.90 USD and reusable hawks at $19.90 each; a hawk can also be earned for every ten qualified friends invited.
Is Carrier Pidge instant messaging?
No. Messages are intentionally slower than instant messaging. Each note travels between the sender's and recipient's approximate roost areas at a nominal pigeon speed of 110 mph (177 km/h), so longer routes take more time. The in-app guide says weather, illness or losing the route can stop a pigeon from arriving, and puts the chance of a pigeon getting lost at about 0.2%.
Does Carrier Pidge share exact locations?
No. A roost is set from browser location or a chosen area, and the point is blurred before it is saved. Friends see a broad region, not a home, street or live location. The site says the location is used only for pigeon routes and that there is no background location tracking.
What platforms does Carrier Pidge support?
Carrier Pidge runs in the web browser after signing in. The site includes instructions for adding it to a phone home screen, and the interface is available in 25 languages.
Who can use Carrier Pidge?
The terms require users to be at least 16 years old, or to meet the minimum digital-consent age in their country. A friend request must be accepted before either person can send a pigeon, and both the sender and the friend need to have set a roost location.
Who makes Carrier Pidge?
The carrierpidge.app site does not name a company or individual; its listed contact is support@carrierpidge.app. It is a different site from carrier-pidge.app, which offers a similarly named iPhone and Android app published on the App Store by Noah Iarrobino, with its own support contact and a separate subscription.
