Release notes for version 1.24b

By Steven Van ·

Zen Browser 1.24b ships an updated OneCRL list for compromised eMudhra certificates, plus sidebar, window and Windows crash fixes.

Zen Browser 1.24b is a fixes-only release that includes an updated certificate block list. Mozilla blocked compromised eMudhra intermediate certificates via OneCRL on October 17th, and the blocks reached clients through Remote Settings the same day. This update bundles the updated OneCRL list in the browser itself. Zen Browser will therefore block those certificates even if Remote Settings is disabled by policy or unreachable on the user's network.

Interface and sidebar fixes

  • The sidebar no longer hides while the mouse is still over it (#15995).
  • Sidebar scroll position is no longer reset when entering fullscreen (#14389).
  • Devtools now appear on glance tabs (#15261).
  • The Boosts zap bar now pushes the web contents up when activated (#13972).
  • Multiple media bars no longer appear when two or more tabs are using WebRTC.

Startup, windows and crashes

  • Multiple windows no longer launch on startup on Linux and Windows (#12140).
  • Windows no longer open on the wrong monitor in multi-monitor setups on Linux.
  • A Windows crash when printing or saving a page as PDF while a screen reader or other assistive technology was running is fixed.
