Wonder adds live multiplayer cursors on its code-backed canvas

By Steven Van ·

Full editor collaboration lands on the $20/month Pro plan, with viewer-only invites on free.

Wonder switched on collaboration on August 5, 2026. Other people's cursors now appear on your canvas, moving around designs that are backed by real code, and the team announced it with a line that sits somewhere between an apology and a flex: "We're sorry and you're welcome." If you have ever watched a teammate drag your carefully aligned layout across a shared canvas, you know exactly what they mean.

Cursors That Move Real React Code

Multiplayer canvases are not new, Figma normalized live cursors years ago. What makes Wonder's version different is what those cursors are touching. Wonder's whole pitch is that the canvas and the code are the same thing: every element you design maps to React and Tailwind, and what you export is what ships. So when a collaborator grabs a component and moves it, they are not nudging vectors, they are editing the code your product will actually run.

That collapses the handoff in both directions. A designer can rework a layout while a developer watches the structure change in the same file, with no export step or redline doc in between. And because Wonder also has an MCP server that gives coding agents read and write access to the canvas, a single Wonder file can now host human designers, human developers, and AI agents working the same surface at once.

What Collaboration Costs

On Wonder's current pricing, the free plan includes viewer-only invites alongside its monthly AI credits and up to three private files. Full editor collaboration, where teammates can actually edit with you, lives on the Pro plan at $20 per month, or $16 per month billed yearly, which also unlocks unlimited private files and a larger AI token allowance. An Enterprise tier adds SSO and admin controls for bigger teams.

Handles Landed Two Days Later

Wonder followed up fast: on August 7 it launched handles, telling users to grab theirs "before they're gone." Usernames sound small, but paired with multiplayer they point at where Wonder is heading, an identity and sharing layer on top of the canvas, not just a solo design tool with an AI attached.

It caps a busy run since the public alpha opened in April 2026. Wonder has since added more than 700 shader presets through its Shaders.com partnership, QuiverAI SVG generation inside the canvas, and a Figma export that refines designs into code that matches what you drew. Collaboration was the obvious missing piece for teams, and now it is live. If your workflow still involves designing in one tool and rebuilding in another, Wonder's argument keeps getting harder to ignore.
