Replit and Whop link building and monetization for developers

By Steven Van ·

Apps built on Replit can now be listed, gated, and sold through Whop's checkout and marketplace.

Whop and Replit have announced a partnership that connects the two halves of shipping a software product: building it and getting paid for it. Announced on July 1, 2026, the deal lets developers build their app on Replit and then monetize it through Whop's marketplace and payment infrastructure. In short, you code on Replit and earn on Whop, without stitching together your own billing, checkout, and distribution.

What the partnership actually does

The premise is simple: build what you want on Replit, then ship and monetize it on Whop. Replit is an AI-native environment where you can go from a prompt to a working, deployed app in the browser, no local setup required. Whop is the marketplace and monetization layer where creators and developers sell digital products, memberships, communities, courses, and apps. The partnership formalizes a path from building to earning across the two platforms, with a dedicated partner page at replit.com/partners/whop. Rather than treating deployment as the finish line, it treats it as the start of a revenue funnel.

Why building and selling in one flow matters

Most builders hit the same wall after the fun part is done: turning a working app into a business. That usually means wiring up a payment processor, building checkout and access control, handling refunds and taxes, and then finding buyers. Whop collapses that stack. It provides built-in payments and checkout, access management, affiliate tools, and a marketplace of ready buyers, so a developer who finishes an app on Replit can list it, gate access, and start charging without leaving the ecosystem. Whop's payment stack requires no subscription, charges 2.7% + $0.30 per transaction, supports 100+ payment methods, and pays out across 241+ territories, which removes a lot of the plumbing that normally stalls a launch.

Who this is for

The clearest fit is the growing wave of solo builders and "vibe coders" who use AI tools to spin up apps quickly but lack a distribution or billing plan. For them, Replit handles the build and hosting, and Whop handles the store, the checkout, and the audience. It also suits creators who already sell on Whop and want to add custom software or apps to their offerings, and developers who want instant distribution through the Whop App Store rather than starting a marketing effort from zero. The combination lowers the barrier between a weekend project and a product with paying customers.

How to get started

If you want to try it, the flow mirrors the announcement. Build or finish your app on Replit, then use Whop to package it as an offer, set pricing, and publish it to the marketplace. Whop's SDK lets your app read purchases, joins, and user details, so you can gate features by membership or one-time purchase. From there, Whop's affiliate and partner programs can help you reach buyers, with buyer affiliates earning a default 30% commission and seller partners earning a share of gross profit. The partner page is the best starting point for the specifics of the integration and any onboarding steps.
