Webflow's MCP now builds full sites and enforces permissions

Webflow's MCP integration reaches version 2.0, adding design and build support, site analytics, and governance controls for AI agents working in Webflow.

• Agents can now build with the full Webflow design system, including styles, elements, and components with props, slots, and variants, and can connect elements and components to CMS data. Custom fonts can be registered, uploaded, listed, updated, and deleted through the MCP.
• The bridge app is no longer required for most workflows, letting agents build across multiple pages or sites at once. It's still needed for tasks requiring live visual context, such as snapshots or prompts referencing a specific on-screen element.
• Agent Instructions let teams point agents at resources like a design system, CMS content, or brand and tone guidelines, and define skills and rules for how agents should complete tasks. These instructions work with both Webflow AI and third-party agents connecting via MCP.
• Agents can ask about traffic trends, top performing pages, engagement events, time on page, and traffic sources conversationally, and share that performance data with other MCP-connected tools such as Amplitude, Slack, and Asana.
• For governance, agents can now iterate on branches before pushing to a live site, and the MCP enforces account roles and permissions, including custom roles and granular access by site, CMS collection, page, and locale. Site activity logs record when a change was made via MCP, who triggered it, and what was affected, and can be queried directly through MCP.
