Webflow brings component-scoped GSAP motion to design systems

By Steven Van ·

GSAP interactions now travel with main components and variants, ship in Shared Libraries, and can still be customised per instance.

Interactions with GSAP now work inside Webflow's design system: motion can be built once on a component and reused everywhere that component appears, rather than redone on each page.

  • Component-scoped interactions can be built on main components and variants, so the interaction travels with the component when it's reused across pages and sites.
  • Component-scoped interactions can be included in Shared Libraries, giving teams motion-ready building blocks at scale.
  • Individual component instances can be animated separately, for unique, contextual interactions.

The release brings Webflow's shared-library support for Interactions with GSAP up to parity with what Classic Interactions (IX2) already had, plus the new contextual component animation option. Read the full announcement.
