Faster, safer content editing for Marketers and Content editors

New content editing improvements for Marketers and Content editors in Webflow

Webflow has bundled four changes to Edit Mode for Marketers and Content editors, aimed at making content updates faster and clearer while keeping teams within their permissions.

  • Adding ?update to any Webflow-hosted site URL now jumps straight into the canvas on the page being viewed, for quicker content changes.
  • Content inside Webflow's native nav bar, dropdown, tab, and slider elements can now be edited, including content hidden by default such as menu items, tabs, or slides.
  • Designers and Admins can preview the default Marketer or Content editor experience from the canvas hamburger menu, without changing their own permissions, to train teammates, write docs, or troubleshoot.
  • Marketers and Content editors can now edit unbound text, links, and images directly inside components. When a change applies to all instances, the canvas enters a focused state with a notification to flag the global update.

All four are available now for the Marketer and Content editor roles on every plan. Custom role permissions for global component editing are limited to Enterprise and Enterprise Partner plans.
