Edit content globally in a component as a Marketer or Content editor
By Steven Van ·
Marketers and content editors can edit global content inside components.
Marketers and content editors can now edit unbound text, links, and images directly inside a Webflow component, with changes applying globally to every instance of that component. Previously this content type was editable only in the legacy Editor. The canvas shows a focused state and a notification bar to confirm when an edit will affect all instances, and interactive elements inside components, such as a dropdown in a navbar, can now be edited as well.
On Enterprise and Enterprise Partner plans, admins can restrict this with a new custom role permission for the Content Editor and Marketer roles. Designers and developers can also limit which elements are editable via the Editing permissions in Element Settings. The feature is available for Marketer and Content editor roles on all plan types, and was launched on 24 February 2026.
