Webflow can now host Apple's well-known association files

By Steven Van ·

Upload apple-app-site-association.txt via the assets panel to enable universal links, Handoff and App Clips.

Webflow can now serve Apple's associated domain files directly from a hosted site. To use it, create a file named apple-app-site-association.txt and upload it through the assets panel; the .txt extension is required in Webflow even though Apple recommends omitting it elsewhere. Once the site is published, Webflow makes the file available at the well-known address Apple expects (https://[domain]/.well-known/apple-app-site-association), which supports features like shared web credentials, universal links, Handoff, and App Clips. A later update, on 16 December 2024, extended support to all well-known files, not just Apple's.
