You can now invalidate the CDN cache by providing a source image

Vercel adds cache invalidation and deletion by source image, with stale-while-revalidate serving to avoid latency.
Vercel's image optimization now supports invalidating the CDN cache by providing a source image. Doing so marks every transformed image derived from that source as stale: the next request still serves the stale version instantly while a new one is generated in the background, so there's no latency hit for visitors.
Source images can be invalidated from the Dashboard Settings, the Vercel CLI, the Function API, or the REST API. There's also an option to delete by source image, for cases where the origin image is gone, though Vercel warns this can add latency or cause downtime while new content is regenerated and recommends using it with caution. The feature is available on all plans using the new image optimization price.
