Vercel Sandbox is now available in all regions
Sandbox regions expand from four to twenty, adding per-region failover for Pro and Enterprise teams.
Vercel Sandbox now runs in all 20 Vercel compute regions, up from four. Running a sandbox closer to the databases and storage it accesses cuts latency, and the wider coverage lets teams keep workloads within approved geographies for data residency requirements.
Region selection is available on every plan, with iad1 remaining the default. Pro and Enterprise teams can also set failover regions: if Vercel can't create a sandbox in the primary region, it tries each configured failover region in order. A default region for new sandboxes can be set from a project's Settings > Sandboxes, or passed directly when creating a sandbox via the SDK or CLI, which overrides the project default. Existing sandboxes stay in the region where they were created, and Active CPU and Provisioned Memory rates vary by region. Vercel recommends updating the Sandbox SDK or CLI to the latest version before selecting one of the newly supported regions.
