Vercel Queues is now in Limited Beta
By Steven Van ·
Vercel Queues, a new background message queue with Pub/Sub, streaming and a TypeScript SDK, is now in Limited Beta.
Vercel is testing a message queue service, Vercel Queues, in Limited Beta. It lets an app send tasks to a queue for background processing instead of making a request wait on slow work, and it handles retries and failures more reliably. Messages are stored in an append-only log so tasks like AI video processing, sending emails, or updating external services persist rather than getting lost.
- Pub/Sub pattern with topic-based messaging, supporting multiple consumer groups
- Streaming support for handling payloads without loading them entirely into memory
- Streamlined auth via automatic OIDC tokens
- A TypeScript SDK with full type safety
Vercel published a code example showing a send and receive call from the @vercel/queue package. Questions can be directed to the Vercel Community.
