Vercel plugin now supported on OpenAI Codex and Codex CLI

By Steven Van ·

Codex and the Codex CLI gain 28 Vercel skills, three specialist agents, and slash commands for deploying and managing projects.

The Vercel plugin for AI coding agents now supports OpenAI Codex and the Codex CLI, joining Claude Code, Grok Build, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Kimi Code as supported tools, according to Vercel's documentation. It can be installed from the Codex app or Codex CLI, and gives Codex 28 skills covering Vercel products such as the AI SDK, Next.js, deployments, and environment variables, three specialist agents for deployment, performance optimisation, and AI architecture, and five slash commands for tasks like deploying and managing environment variables.

By default, the plugin only injects session context automatically in empty directories or detected Vercel and Next.js projects; skills and slash commands stay available on demand elsewhere.
