Vercel MCP now supports the 2026-07-28 MCP specification, adding a stateless request model and updated authorization behavior for clients that understand the new spec. Clients built for the 2025 protocol continue to work as before, since both versions are served from the same endpoint via the official MCP SDK v2 and mcp-handler 2.x. Setup is unchanged: add the server with npx add-mcp https://mcp.vercel.com or run vercel mcp. See the announcement for the full list of protocol changes.
