Vercel Agent can now run AI investigations

By Steven Van ·

Vercel Agent's new public beta skill investigates anomalies and suggests fixes for Observability Plus subscribers.

Vercel Agent can now investigate incidents on its own. The new skill, launched in public beta at Ship AI, detects anomalies, runs root cause analysis, and produces remediation plans without relying on third-party tools.

Anomaly alerts watch for unusual activity, such as spikes in function duration, fast data transfer, or 5xx errors, with no configuration needed. Anyone subscribed to Observability Plus gets these automatically. When an anomaly fires, Agent can investigate on its own or on demand, checking correlation across metrics and deployments, historical context from past incidents, dependency mapping across upstream and downstream services, and change attribution against recent code or config updates. It then generates a summary of what went wrong, assesses severity and impact, and, if the issue has already resolved itself, flags that so teams don't chase it further.

  • Available in the Agent tab of the Vercel dashboard, running automatically on all error alerts or triggered manually with Vercel Agent credits.
  • Requires an Observability Plus subscription, since Investigations builds on its anomaly alerts.
  • New Agent users can claim $100 in free credit toward both Investigations and Code Reviews.
  • Alerts can also go out via Slack integration or webhooks, alongside email alerts for team owners and optional email for team members.
