Vercel acquires Tremor to invest in open source React components

By Steven Van ·

Tremor's 35 components and 300 blocks stay open source, and its Pro Blocks become free under an MIT license.

Vercel has acquired Tremor, the open source React component library for building dashboards. The announcement says Tremor's cofounders, Severin Landolt and Christopher Kindl, are joining Vercel's Design Engineering team.

Tremor is built on React, Tailwind CSS and Radix. It has 35 components and 300 blocks that can be copy-pasted into dashboards. Vercel cites over 16,000 stars, 300,000 monthly downloads and 5,500,000 installs.

  • Tremor Blocks: the Pro product will be free and open source for all users under an MIT license.
  • Vercel Dashboard: Landolt and Kindl will work on UI components for the dashboard.
  • v0: Tremor's component library will be used in Vercel's generative UI system, so it can build more complex, data-rich interfaces from text prompts.
