Updates to Hobby and Pro Terms of Service

By Steven Van ·

The revised terms cover credit expiry, managed work-email accounts, and cancellation rights for eligible UK and EU consumers on Hobby and Pro plans.

Vercel is updating the Terms of Service for Vercel Hobby and Pro customers, effective October 19, 2026. The changes clarify existing practices, expand terms on managed accounts and credits, and reflect legal requirements, including certain cancellation and service-change rights for eligible consumers in the UK and EU.

Credits and billing

A new section sets out how credits work. Plan-included credits expire at the end of the subscription term. Purchased credits expire one year after purchase, unless the relevant credit purchase terms say otherwise.

  • Credits can only be used to pay Vercel fees, have no cash value, and are nontransferable.
  • Credits are generally nonrefundable, but unused purchased credits are refunded if Vercel terminates the account without cause.
  • Credit purchases are billed in advance.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless renewal is turned off.
  • Third-party pass-through rates may change when provider rates change.

Managed accounts

A dedicated section now covers accounts that use a company email domain, such as a work email. It clarifies that the company can manage only the Projects created inside its Team. If a company wants to manage an account that uses its work email, Vercel will notify the user first and give them a reasonable amount of time to move personal content to an account with a different email address.

Renewal and cancellation

Auto-renewal can be turned off, and a subscription can be cancelled or downgraded through account settings or Support. Cancellation or downgrade generally takes effect at the start of the next renewal period. The Terms also explain statutory withdrawal and refund rights for eligible consumers.

Service changes

Eligible consumers in the UK and EU may cancel the affected subscription free of charge if a change has more than a minor negative impact on their access to or use of the Services. They have 30 days from notice or the change, whichever is later, and may receive a prorated refund of prepaid amounts for the remaining period.

Other updates

Service-specific provisions have moved to a dedicated Service Terms page. The Terms also clarify sanctions-related obligations, including that use of the Services must not be in connection with or for the benefit of a sanctioned person under applicable laws.
