Transform rules are now available in vercel.json

By Steven Van ·

Vercel's vercel.json now supports unlimited transform rules on every plan, for editing headers and query parameters without code changes.

Vercel now supports transform rules directly in vercel.json, letting developers modify HTTP request and response headers or query parameters without changing application code. Rules can set, append, or delete headers and query parameters, and apply conditional logic based on request metadata, matching by equality, inequality, prefix, suffix, inclusion in a string array, or numeric comparison.

Unlimited transform rules are available on all plans. An interactive transform rules playground is available to test the feature, and the change builds on Vercel's existing CDN routing support for redirects and rewrites to external origins. Full details are in the announcement.
