Stopping the slow death of internal tools
By Steven Van ·
v0 lets business users build and publish real, SSO-secured internal tools on the same platform engineers use.
Vercel's v0 agent can now build and publish internal tools as real, deployable code rather than one-off AI-generated scripts. Business users describe what they need, and v0 generates auditable code they can test in a sandbox and then publish to a secure environment on Vercel, alongside the applications their engineering team ships.
Security is handled at the platform level rather than left to each builder: apps authenticate through the company's existing identity provider, access controls apply even if the app code never implements auth, and data access is evaluated at runtime based on the viewer's own privileges, so a dashboard creator can't grant access they don't have. Apps can't be accidentally exposed to the public internet, and every change is logged and can be rolled back instantly.
Vercel gives examples of internal tools it has built this way, including a sales forecasting tool that pulls from multiple data sources, a marketing lead-import tool that cleans and scores leads automatically, and a reusable template for event marketing pages with a submission-approval backend.
