Vercel's skills.sh registry reached one million agent skills and nearly 280 million installs in its first seven months, according to the company's State of Agent Skills report.
A skill gives an AI agent reusable instructions for a specific job: the steps to follow, what good output looks like, and how to judge the result. Anthropic introduced Agent Skills in October 2025, and Vercel launched skills.sh three months later.
The report compares that growth to other platforms reaching one million listings: GitHub took 27 months to hit one million repositories, Apple's App Store took just over five years to reach one million apps, and npm took more than nine years to reach one million packages.
Software engineering is the largest skill category by number of listings. The most-installed skills, classified by the kind of work they help agents do, account for more than four-fifths of all installs on the registry.
