Secure Marketplace credentials with Production-only access
By Steven Van ·
Restricting a resource to Production only removes Development and Preview connections and hides its credentials from the dashboard and CLI.
Vercel now lets teams lock a native integration resource to Production only, cutting off non-production access to protect its credentials.
The setting lives under Allowed Environments in the resource's Settings. Once saved:
- Development and Preview connections are removed
- New non-production connections are blocked
- Connections without a Production target are disconnected
- Credentials are protected as sensitive environment variables and no longer readable from the dashboard or CLI
Vercel recommends rotating the resource's secrets after saving. Reverting the setting to allow Development and Preview again requires the Owner role and may prompt a multi-factor authentication challenge.
