Redirects and rewrites now available in Observability
By Steven Van ·
New Observability views show redirect and external rewrite traffic, with deeper breakdowns for Pro and Enterprise on Observability Plus.
Vercel now surfaces redirect and external rewrite traffic inside Vercel's Observability. External rewrites forward requests to APIs or sites outside a Vercel project, letting Vercel act as a reverse proxy or standalone CDN, and the new views make that traffic visible by hostname and path.
- All customers get two new views: total external rewrites, and external rewrites by hostname.
- Pro and Enterprise customers can upgrade to Observability Plus for connection latency to the external host, rewrites broken down by source and destination path, and routes and paths for redirect locations.
- Log drains now support Redirects, External Rewrites, and Cached External Rewrites.
