Opus 4.8 on AI Gateway

Developers switch models by setting anthropic/claude-opus-4.8 in the AI SDK, with no markup added to Vercel's inference pricing.
Claude Opus 4.8 is now available on Vercel's AI Gateway. The model is built for long-horizon agentic execution, handling multi-step coding tasks like refactors that previously needed human correction partway through, and produces clearer, less hedgy prose for knowledge work such as drafting documents, analyzing data and building presentations. To use it, developers set the model to anthropic/claude-opus-4.8 in the AI SDK.
AI Gateway charges no markup on inference, including for Bring Your Own Key requests, and adds usage tracking, retries, failover and Zero Data Retention support. Rankings for Opus 4.8 against other models are tracked on the AI Gateway leaderboard.
