Node.js 24 LTS is now generally available for builds and functions
By Steven Van ·
Node.js 24.x is now the default runtime for new Vercel projects, with V8 13.6, a global URLPattern API, Undici v7 and npm v11.
Vercel now offers Node.js 24 as a runtime for builds and functions, and it is the default version for new projects. Existing projects can switch to it from Project Settings, under Build and Deployment, then Node.js Version, by selecting 24.x.
- V8 engine upgraded to version 13.6, adding performance improvements and features like Float16Array and Error.isError
- Global URLPattern API for URL routing and matching without extra libraries or regular expressions
- Undici v7, giving the built-in fetch API faster HTTP performance and improved HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 support
- npm v11 for better compatibility with modern JavaScript packages
The current build is 24.11.0, and Vercel will update the minor and patch versions automatically while guaranteeing only the major version, 24.x. See the announcement for details.
