New Vercel CLI login flow
By Steven Van ·
Vercel CLI login switches to OAuth 2.0 Device Flow, and old login methods stop working February 26, 2026, except SAML-based team login.
The vercel login command now uses OAuth 2.0 Device Flow, the industry-standard method, letting you sign in from any browser-capable device. Vercel recommends checking the location, IP, and request time before approving a login.
Email-based login (vercel login your@email.com) and the --github, --gitlab, --bitbucket, --oob, and team flags are deprecated. Most of these stop working on February 26, 2026; the team method (SAML-based login) continues until June 1, 2026. Vercel had previously extended support for these methods to June 1, 2026, but is now moving most of that deadline earlier to prioritise security. Upgrade with npm i vercel@latest; see the full announcement for details.
