Buying a domain on Vercel now leads to a setup page that tracks registration live and unlocks setup actions as soon as the domain is ready. If registration fails, the page shows what went wrong and the status of the refund.
- Deploy a new project with the domain preselected, connecting a Git repository, prompting with v0, or starting from a template, or connect an existing project from the team.
- Proxy traffic to an existing origin through Vercel's CDN, with edge caching and Vercel Firewall's automated DDoS protections, or redirect the domain to a URL. Vercel creates and configures a project to handle the routing either way.
- Set up email by choosing a provider, with DNS presets for Google Workspace, Outlook, iCloud, Proton Mail, Zoho, Mailgun and ImprovMX, plus a preset for using the domain as a Bluesky handle. A "Manage DNS records" option is available for configuring records manually.
