MiniMax M3 and M2.7 are free on AI Gateway

MiniMax M3 and M2.7 are free on AI Gateway via GMI Cloud through Sunday, September 6.
Vercel's AI Gateway is offering MiniMax M3 and M2.7 for free through Sunday, September 6, routed via GMI Cloud. Requests using minimax/minimax-m3-free or minimax/minimax-m2.7-free go through the free route, but these model IDs will return an error once the free period ends.
To keep the same code working afterwards, developers can use the standard model ID without the -free suffix and set GMI Cloud first in the provider order. AI Gateway will try GMI Cloud first and fall back to another provider if needed; once the free period is over, requests are billed at the serving provider's rate. Both routing options work across all AI Gateway APIs.
To use a free MiniMax model with a coding agent, run vercel ai-gateway coding-agents setup and select one of the -free model IDs. Both models can also be tried in the gateway playground.
