MiniMax's open source MiniMax M2 model is now available through Vercel's AI Gateway for free, with no separate MiniMax account required. The model is free to use until Nov 7th, 2025.
MiniMax M2 is built for agentic use and runs efficiently, with only 10B active parameters per forward pass. To use it with the AI SDK, developers can set the model string to minimax/minimax-m2. Through the Gateway, calls to the model get built-in observability, bring-your-own-key support, and intelligent provider routing with automatic retries and failover.
