Manage multiple Vercel Function regions in the dashboard

Pro and Enterprise teams can set multiple Function regions in project settings instead of editing vercel.json, with Pro capped at five regions.
Pro and Enterprise teams can now pick multiple regions for Vercel Functions from the project dashboard, so regions no longer have to be defined in vercel.json. The setting is under a project's Settings tab, in the Functions section.
Multi-region support covers all Vercel Functions and works with Vercel's implementation of Fluid compute, which Vercel describes as encouraging a dense global compute model that places dynamic functions closer to your data.
The docs list the region limits by plan: Hobby gets a single region, Pro gets 5 regions, and Enterprise gets all regions. A deployment that targets more regions than the plan allows fails before the build step. New projects default to Washington, D.C. (iad1).
