Liquid AI's d1 is available on AI Gateway
By Steven Van ·
Developers can ask typed questions about text and images, with decision calls logged and counted toward AI Gateway budgets.
Classification, routing, and scoring calls can now return structured answers with probabilities through Liquid AI's d1 on Vercel AI Gateway. The model evaluates shared state against typed questions without generating text tokens.
Typed questions and image input
Developers can call liquid/d1 through the AI SDK decision API, the OpenAI-compatible Decisions API, or the TypeSafe-compatible API. Supported question types include Choice, Score, and Boolean. The release note demonstrates a Boolean question asking whether a support agent issued a refund.
d1 also supports typed questions about images for visual classification, inspection, and scoring. An image example reads a local PNG and asks whether the square it contains is red, blue, or green.
Usage and budgets
Decision calls appear in AI Gateway logs and count toward budgets alongside other model requests. Vercel's decision models article index collects guides on decision APIs and model selection.
