Laya, an evaluation and decision model from Convai Innovations, is free on Vercel's AI Gateway through October 31, 2026, when served by Boundless. Laya takes shared context and checks it against yes/no, choice or scoring questions, then returns structured answers with probabilities. It is listed in the AI Gateway model catalog under evaluation models.
Vercel gives these example uses:
- Triage support requests, such as detecting a refund request and routing it to the billing team.
- Route agent work by choosing which tool or workflow should handle a request.
- Check guardrails by flagging a request or response for review when it may violate a policy.
- Score against a rubric, such as rating a ticket's urgency or an answer's quality on a defined scale.
Laya can be called through the AI SDK evaluation API, the native HTTP API, or the TypeSafe-compatible API, using the model ID convaiinnovations/laya or convaiinnovations/laya-free.
Both IDs are free through October 31 when served by Boundless. After that, the -free ID stops serving, and the standard ID begins billing.
