Jev is the fastest-adopted model in AI Gateway history

By Steven Van ·

TypeSafe AI's Jev reached nearly 13% of paid teams within 24 hours of launching on Vercel's AI Gateway, more than double the next fastest model.

Jev, a new model from TypeSafe AI, reached more paid teams within 24 hours of launching on Vercel's AI Gateway than any previous model, making it the fastest-adopted model in the gateway's history. It passed every comparison model within its first twelve hours and kept widening its lead through the day, reaching a tenth of paid teams within 18 hours and nearly 13% by hour 24, about twice the share of the GPT-5.6 family and more than six times that of Fable 5.1. Every other recent model launch stayed below 7% adoption after a full day.

Jev launched on September 15 as a probabilistic decision model built for making structured decisions inside software. An application sends it context and a set of questions, and it evaluates them in parallel, returning typed choices, scores, or true-or-false answers along with probabilities, rather than the free text a general-purpose language model produces. Developers can use it to:

  • Choose an agent's next tool or subagent
  • Decide whether a workflow should continue, retry, ask the user, or stop
  • Score urgency or risk before taking an action
  • Verify model outputs, enforce guardrails, or send uncertain cases for human review

In its own workflow evaluations, TypeSafe AI reports Jev was up to 194 times faster and 445 times cheaper than language models. Details are in the announcement.
