Improved data collection for Web Analytics and Speed Insights with resilient intake

By Steven Van ·

Updated Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights packages add resilient data intake for all teams at no extra cost, with a switch to the MIT licence.

Vercel's Web Analytics and Speed Insights are moving to version 2, which adds resilient intake for data collection. Instead of sending data to a single fixed endpoint, the updated packages discover endpoints dynamically, which is meant to capture more complete traffic and performance data.

  • Update to the latest @vercel/analytics and @vercel/speed-insights packages and redeploy; no other configuration is needed, and existing implementations keep working as before.
  • The change is available to all teams at no additional cost.
  • Both packages switch their licence from Apache-2.0 to MIT.
  • Nuxt applications can install Speed Insights and Web Analytics with a one-line Nuxt module.

Details are in the Web Analytics documentation.
