How Stripe built a game-changing app in a single flight with v0

Built by a finance employee with no coding background, the v0 app now draws nearly four times as many weekly users as the spreadsheet it replaced.
A Stripe employee with no formal engineering background built a customer-facing app during a single long-haul flight, using Vercel's v0. Mario Braz, from Stripe's GTM Business Value Consulting team, had a working, web-based, mobile-friendly version ready by the time he landed.
The app is a value calculator that lets Stripe's go-to-market teams generate tailored financial hypotheses for customer profiles without support from the Business Value team. It replaced financial models that had lived in spreadsheets, which Stripe says created friction for account executives and required manual support from a small team even for standardized use cases.
Three weeks after launch, Stripe reported:
- Average weekly internal users up from 23 on the old spreadsheet to 92, a 288% increase, excluding the launch-week spike
- About 10 customer-facing value presentations generated per week, 126 since launch, saving an estimated 30-40 hours of work weekly
- Time to generate initial value hypotheses down roughly 80%
Stripe says the app has also prompted Solution Architects and Product Managers to build their own demos and prototypes with v0.
