How Rillet ships 3× faster with AI agents on Vercel

By Steven Van ·

Customer success staff turn highlighted app issues into agent-written pull requests, with browser tests and human review before merging.

A two-person frontend team at Rillet closed more than 800 Linear tickets in its first four months, according to a customer story published by Vercel. The team builds agents with eve and deploys them on Vercel, with customer success staff and CPAs also using agents to ship customer-requested changes.

From customer request to reviewed pull request

Customer success staff open a Chrome extension alongside the Rillet app, highlight what the customer is seeing, and describe the change. An eve agent captures that context and, for safe, well-scoped changes, passes it to a coding agent that writes a spec, makes the change, and opens a pull request assigned to frontend lead Anthony Liang.

Agents test the change in a sandbox browser and attach screenshots. Anthony reviews and merges the pull request; if he requests changes, the agent resumes its session to address them. Rillet’s CPA team also uses an in-house agent called Nebula to ship customer requests in as little as two hours.

Shared instructions, connections, and models

Eve keeps an agent’s configuration, instructions, tools, skills, and subagents in one directory. Staff can shape behavior through Markdown instructions and skills without writing code, while tools live in TypeScript files. Agents can move from a laptop to Vercel without changing their behavior.

Vercel Connect gives Rillet’s agents reusable connections to Slack and Linear, supplying short-lived tokens at runtime and handling refresh through its SDK. AI Gateway routes model requests through one integration. Builders select a model by changing a configuration string, and deployed agents authenticate automatically. Usage breakdowns show which models the team uses and what they cost.

Company-managed builder access

Rillet uses Enterprise Managed Users so builders sign in with company-managed accounts through Google Workspace single sign-on. Directory Sync adds and removes access according to assignments in Rillet’s identity provider. The company moved builders from personal accounts to company-managed accounts in one transition.
