Hobby projects now retain fewer deployments to free up storage
By Steven Van ·
Hobby projects now keep only their 3 most recent production and 3 most recent overall deployments to stay under the 10GB storage limit.
Hobby teams on Vercel now lose old deployments sooner. Each Hobby project keeps only its 3 most recent production deployments plus its 3 most recent deployments of any type, regardless of age; preview deployments no longer get separate protection. The current production deployment, aliased deployments, and active-branch deployments are still never deleted.
The change is meant to free up space within the 10GB Deployment Storage limit that Hobby teams get, since exceeding it can block further deploys. If a team is already over the limit, deployments outside the protected exceptions are now deleted immediately rather than after the usual 30-day retention window. Teams that need to keep more history can optimise their storage usage or upgrade to Pro, where storage is billed at $0.10 per GB per month.
