GPT 5.6 Sol, Luna, and Terra now available on AI Gateway

OpenAI's GPT 5.6 arrives on Vercel's AI Gateway as three models, Sol, Terra, and Luna, priced from flagship down to lowest-cost.
AI Gateway now offers GPT 5.6 from OpenAI in a limited preview, across three models: Sol, Terra, and Luna. Vercel says all three are stronger at agentic work in coding, biology, and cybersecurity, and more token-efficient than the previous generation.
- Sol (openai/gpt-5.6-sol): the flagship and most capable of the three.
- Terra (openai/gpt-5.6-terra): a balanced model for everyday work, with performance comparable to the previous generation at half the cost.
- Luna (openai/gpt-5.6-luna): a fast, affordable model with strong capability at the lowest cost in the series.
To use GPT 5.6, set one of these slugs as the model in the AI SDK, or add a routing rule to switch existing traffic from another gateway model without changing code. As with other AI Gateway models, pricing reflects OpenAI's rates with no markup and no platform fee, including on Bring Your Own Key requests. See the announcement for details.
