GPT-5.6 Sol is now 50% off a lower price

OpenAI lowered list pricing for GPT-5.6 Sol, and the 50% AI Gateway discount now applies to the new, lower price through September 18.
The 50% AI Gateway discount on Vercel's GPT-5.6 Sol now applies to a lower OpenAI list price, through September 18. Input drops 20% and output drops a third off the new list price.
- Default tier: $2.00 / $10.00 per million input/output tokens, down from $2.50 / $15.00.
- Flex tier: $1.00 / $5.00, down from $1.25 / $7.50.
- Priority (fast mode): $4.00 / $20.00, down from $5.00 / $30.00.
Rates are per million tokens for requests up to 272K tokens; cached tokens, cache writes, long-context requests above 272K, and US regional rates move by the same proportion. The model ID is unchanged, so existing requests bill at the new price automatically. BYOK requests still bill at the caller's own rate with OpenAI. To use Sol in a coding agent, run vercel ai-gateway coding-agents setup and select openai/gpt-5.6-sol in the agent's model settings, per the announcement.
