GPT 5.2 Codex now available on Vercel AI Gateway

GPT 5.2 Codex joins Vercel AI Gateway, callable via the AI SDK as openai/gpt-5.2-codex without a separate OpenAI account.
GPT 5.2 Codex is now available through Vercel's AI Gateway, with no separate OpenAI account required. The model combines GPT 5.2's knowledge-work strength with the agentic coding ability of GPT 5.1 Codex Max, and Vercel says it handles long-running coding tasks, large refactors, and migrations more reliably than earlier models. It also has stronger vision performance for reading screenshots and charts shared during coding sessions, and it surpassed GPT 5.1 Codex Max on OpenAI's Professional Capture-the-Flag cybersecurity evaluation.
To use it with the AI SDK, set the model to openai/gpt-5.2-codex. Requests made this way get AI Gateway's usual handling: unified usage and cost tracking, retries, provider failover, and built-in observability.
