GLM-5 is live on AI Gateway
By Steven Van ·
Z.AI's new model needs no separate account and targets agentic coding, tool use, and pulling structured data from documents.
Vercel's AI Gateway now supports GLM-5 from Z.AI, so it can be used without a separate provider account. Compared to GLM-4.7, GLM-5 adds multiple thinking modes, improved long-range planning and memory, and better handling of complex multi-step agent tasks. Vercel says it is particularly strong at agentic coding, autonomous tool use, and extracting structured data from documents like contracts and financial reports. To use it, developers set the model to zai/glm-5 in the AI SDK. GLM-5's share of AI Gateway traffic can be tracked on the model leaderboard.
