Google's budget model lands on Vercel's AI Gateway with four configurable thinking levels.
Google's Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite is now available through Vercel's AI Gateway. The vendor says it outperforms 2.5 Flash Lite on overall quality, with particular gains in translation, data extraction, and code completion, and is aimed at high-volume agentic tasks and applications where budget and latency matter most.
To use it, set the model to google/gemini-3.1-flash-lite-preview in the AI SDK. The model supports four thinking levels: minimal, low, medium, and high. Read the announcement.
