Elastic Build Machines is now GA

By Steven Van ·

Vercel's auto-sized build machines are now GA for Pro and Enterprise teams and default for new Pro teams.

Vercel's Vercel has moved elastic build machines out of beta and into general availability for all Pro and Enterprise customers, and made them the default for new Pro teams. Instead of assigning a fixed build machine size, Vercel evaluates each project individually and assigns the machine that fits its actual needs.

Over 400 teams and 6,000 projects enabled elastic as their default build machine during the beta. About 80% of those projects cut costs by moving to a smaller build machine while keeping the same build speed, and the other 20% were auto-upgraded to machines with more CPUs and memory, improving their build speed. Elastic build machines can be turned on in team settings or project settings.
