Deploy Hono backends with zero configuration
By Steven Van ·
New Hono apps on Vercel get automatic Fluid compute, Active CPU pricing, and cold start optimisation with no configuration.
Vercel now recognises Vercel's framework-defined infrastructure for Hono, a lightweight backend framework built on web standards, and deploys it with zero configuration.
New Hono apps deployed to Vercel automatically become Vercel Functions and run on Fluid compute, with Active CPU pricing, automatic cold start optimisation, and background processing. Server routes need no extra setup, static assets in public/** are served from Vercel's CDN, and Hono's own serveStatic() is ignored in favour of that. Streaming is supported through Hono's stream() function. Developers can start a project with vc init hono and use the Vercel CLI's vc dev and vc deploy to develop and ship it, as described in the announcement.
